What does Inclusive Culture mean?
Inclusive Culture means barrier-free access to culture for all.

Inclusive Culture promotes the participation in cultural life of people with and without impairments/disabilities.

The label Inclusive Culture honours the commitment of cultural institutions to their visitors with disabilities. The label is issued by Pro Infirmis.

Inclusive Culture in the Aargauer Kunsthaus

The Aargauer Kunsthaus is committed to ensuring that culture is accessible to all. It has already developed inclusive offers in art education, both for the visually impaired and for those with dementia.

A group of experts has also been set up to examine all existing measures and offers and develop new measures and offers The group is made up of people both with and without impairments/disabilities.

Accessibility for people with restricted mobility
The Aargauer Kunsthaus is accessible to people with reduced mobility.

It is accessible by wheelchair. Two wheelchair-accessible lifts allow access to the floors of the Museum.

There is a wheelchair-accessible WC on the ground floor.

A wheelchair is available at reception for people with reduced mobility.

Car park
There is a car park for people with reduced mobility directly in front of the Museum.

Public Transport
The journey by bus (lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7) from Aarau raily station to the ‘Kunsthaus’ stop takes 4 minutes. The timetable can be found on the BusAarau website.
The entrance to the Kunsthaus is approximately 100 metres from the bus stop. There are two roads with pedestrian crossings to be crossed on the way to the Museum.
