Throughout his life, the painter and graphic artist Johannes Robert Schürch (1895-1941) explored the abysses of human existence in depth. As a loner, he was sympathetic to those who live on the edge of society. This exhibition recognises the diversity of his expressive work of drawings and increases the awareness for the abundance of sujets that inspired and influenced this important and all but forgotten Swiss artist of early modernism in his search for the True and Absolute.
