Auswahl 24
Guest artist: Victoria Holdt Tickets

20 years of Auswahl! In collaboration with the Aargauer Kuratorium, the Aargauer Kunsthaus is presenting contemporary art from the region for the twentieth time. When the Auswahl is shown at the end of the year, it is like opening a treasure chest. The diversity, dynamism and potential of Aargau’s artists can be discovered on two floors.

The jury appointed jointly by the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Aargauer Kuratorium makes a selection from around 200 dossiers and decides on participation in Auswahl 24.

As part of the Auswahl process, the Aargauer Kuratorium awards grants for works and funding in the fields of visual arts and performance.

Guest artist: Victoria Holdt

Victoria Holdt (*1992 in Uster) explores the connections between body, media and material in her works. In sensual spatial installations, she projects abstract videos onto organically shaped cocoons. She sees the cocoons as a symbol of a space that is both safe and vulnerable. Holdt deliberately creates ambivalent moods between kitsch and horror, which both attract and repel visitors. On the translucent projection surfaces, the boundaries between microcosm and macrocosm become blurred.
