TicketsIn Timo Ullmann’s artistic workshop for adults, you will get to know the artist and his performative working methods. In his current series Screen Pieces, Ullmann explores the materiality of screens—he manipulates LCD displays, transforms digital surfaces into sculptural objects, and explores the boundary between physical and virtual reality. His works Screenshare and Chandelier_Simulacrum (with René Müller) are currently on display in the exhibition More Light at the Kunstmuseum Solothurn.
In the studio, you will experiment with your own smartphone as a camera, light source, and artistic material. At various stations, you can experiment with green screen techniques, light and colour experiments, video feedback, screen compositions, defective displays, or thermal imaging technology. You will learn how everyday devices can be turned into artistic tools—just as Ullmann does in his own practice. A visit to the exhibition is not part of the workshop.
Please bring your own smartphone (charged).
Don’t miss: on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 6.30 to 8 pm, the Kunstmuseum Solothurn will host Art Affair, an art encounter with artists with Lena Weber and Timo Ullmann.
