Come and explore the Aargauer Kunsthaus with your family as part of Aargau Family Day. Young and old alike can explore the museum at their own pace, let their creativity run wild in a workshop, or listen to the rich tones of the argovia philharmonic’s string quartet during the family concert.

Workshop Painting to Music
2 – 2.30 pm / 2.45 – 3.15 pm
Children will paint to music in the studio (for children aged 5 and over, without an accompanying adult) with Xenia Joss, art educator, and Janina Kriszun, music educator. Places for each workshop are limited to a maximum of 25 children. Please register by 18 September 2026, 4 pm.

Concert Pictures at an Exhibition
3.30 – 4.30 pm
What happens when the figures in various paintings at an exhibition suddenly come to life? They tell us stories from times gone by and unknown lands. The narrator, Giorgina Hämmerli, becomes a painter and friend of Modest Mussorgsky. Just like the composer himself, she wanders through a gallery with the audience, examining ten paintings by Viktor Hartmann in great detail. No registration is required for the concert.
