From the idyllic Alpine backdrop to the cradle of biotechnological progress, in Le Miracle d’Helvetia (2022), Guerreiro do Divino Amor uses a tongue-in-cheek approach to reveal a Switzerland whose neutrality appears to be the source of countless contradictions. In his work, the artist examines how institutions or companies appropriate myths and their visual language in order to anchor new fictions in society. With the latest chapter of his Superfictional World Atlas, the artist represented Switzerland at the last Venice Biennale, demonstrating how art is capable of reflecting on our world in a way that is both pleasurable and critical.
