Ishita Chakraborty (*1989) is the winner of the Manor Art Award Aarau 2024, which is awarded every two years to promote young Swiss art. In her artistic work, Chakraborty deals with displacement, colonial trauma and identity politics. She examines how people who are often marginalised or disadvantaged fight against injustice and speak out about it.
Food is much more than just nourishment – it evokes memories, connects people and highlights social differences. In the exhibition Dishcomfort, the NOF4 collective explores the topic of food and how it can be shown as a unifying element, a biographical reference point and a social statement. The exhibition addresses issues of gender identity, social injustice and belonging through the social practices of eating.
