The region’s art studios are bustling with intense work, experimentation and design. The diversity and expressiveness of local art is showcased every year in the Auswahl process open to applicants from the Aargau Curatorium and the Aargauer Kunsthaus. Based on the submissions for this exhibition, grants and subsidies are also awarded to artists with close ties to the canton of Aargau.

The Auswahl showcases around fifty works on two floors of the Aargauer Kunsthaus. Visitors thus gain a unique insight into art from the region.

Please note: The collection will be closed during Auswahl 26. The rooms on the upper and lower floors will exclusively display works from Auswahl 26. Collection 27 will reopen in January 2027.
