It has its firm place in the exhibition programme of the Aargauer Kunsthaus: the Auswahl, the annual exhibition of local art that is presented jointly by the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Aargauer Kuratorium. The annual exhibition provides an opportunity for local artists to present their work to a wide public.

In October, two expert juries, one on behalf of the Aargauer Kunsthaus and one on behalf of the Aargauer Kuratorium, have independently judged the submitted dossiers. This year, 188 artists have applied for inclusion in the annual exhibition. Out of these, a total of 58 artists have been invited by the juries to present their most recent works in Auswahl 15. The resulting exhibition offers a wide-ranging and stimulating survey of current artistic practices in the Canton of Aargau.

At the opening of the exhibition on 4 December 2015, the Aargauer Kuratorium will award its grants for work in the visual arts. At the same time the Neue Aargauer Bank will present its advancement award to a young artist.
