At the end of the year the stage belongs to the regional art production.

Auswahl 17 is presented in close cooperation between the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the Aargauer Kuratorium. It assembles the most recent works of Aargau artists and offers a wide-ranging and stimulating survey of current artistic practices in the Canton of Aargau.

Each autumn, two expert juries, one on behalf of the Aargauer Kunsthaus and the other on behalf of the Aargauer Kuratorium, judge the approximately 200 submissions. In the context of the exhibition, the Aargauer Kuratorium will award its grants for work in the visual arts. At the same time the Neue Aargauer Bank will present its annual advancement award to a young artist.
