For the Aargauer Kunsthaus, Dunja Herzog has created a site-specific installation in the exhibition space devoted to the permanent collection, allowing her recent objects to enter into a dialogue with works from the museum’s holdings. In the gallery she has rearranged paintings by renowned artists Alberto Giacometti, René Auberjonois, Louis Soutter, Johannes Robert Schürch, and Georges Rouault, in some cases replacing them with specific works by the same artists. As a result, the thematic orientation and the general atmosphere of the gallery change.
