CARAVAN 2/2020: Martina Mächler
Series of Exhibitions of Young Art
In her CARAVAN exhibition at the Aargauer Kunsthaus the artist Martina Mächler (b. 1991) takes us on a tour through the presentation of the collection on the first floor. Here she has set up audio installations consisting of subtle noises and text fragments in various exhibition rooms.
The artistic works of Martina Mächler (b. 1991) are preceded by intensive work involving narrations, space, movement and the body. Mächler responds to the specific conditions of her surroundings, and works in and with different rooms. She captures her experiences with movements and the body in space – in writing, visually and in sound. On this basis she creates site-specific installations.
The Series of Exhibitions of Young Swiss art is a fixture in the programme. CARAVAN offers the public opportunities to encounter surprising young art and discover as yet unestablished artists at the Aargauer Kunsthaus.
Over the course of the year, the three solo exhibitions appear as “mobile interventions” in different locations at the museum. The artists are invited to bring their works into a dialogue with the building, the collection and the programme of the Kunsthaus.
