Flowers to Art 2020
Floral Interpretations of Works in the Collection
Organised for the first time in 2014 and a great success, Flowers to Art continues in 2015. Right on time for spring awakening, Swiss master florists interpret selected works from the collection, thereby allowing for a complex and fascinating dialogue. In addition to classical works by well-known artists, contemporary works are featured as well. The spectrum ranges from works by Robert Zünd, Félix Vallotton, Hans Arp, Franz Gertsch to John Armleder, amongst others.
Flowers as ancient symbols of the beauty and transience of life have always intertwined different perceptions and views. These are illuminated in a programme of supporting events: guided tours with master florists and art historians, workshops, lectures, and talks with guests, as well as a flower studio examine the subject in greater depth. For the first time the exterior of the Aargauer Kunsthaus is incorporated as well.
