With Pia Fries, Marianne Kuhn and Barbara Müller, we are focussing on three artists whose large-format abstract paintings and drawings make up strong positions in the collection and who represent the regional art scene. Thanks to new additions, further aspects of their work can be discovered and different phases of their oeuvre presented.

In their independent forms of expression, the three artists form an exciting triad: Marianne Kuhn’s layering of graphite traces on large-format sheets, Pia Fries’ lush application of colour as gesture and material, Barbara Müller’s profound use of colour and the unobtrusive size of her forms all stand out in their painterly consistency.
