New Heads: Jacopo Belloni
Advancement Award of HEAD – Genève

The young talent award New Heads, founded in 2012, offers support to artists who graduated from the Master’s degree program in visual arts at HEAD – Genève by allowing them to exhibit their work in a professional context. Each year two institutions are invited to select and present the work of a graduate student. 2021 New Heads makes a guest appearance at the Aargauer Kunsthaus. The award-winning artist is Jacopo Belloni (*1992 in Ancona, IT).

Jacopo Belloni graduated with a master in Fine Arts from Haute école d’art et de design (HEAD) in Summer 2021. In his artistic practice Belloni is engaged with the mechanisms human beings developed to cope with unpredictability and chaos. Within this field he’s especially interested in the entanglement of rituals of self-protection and their – mostly capitalized – materialization in objects and forms of everyday life. For his solo presentation in the context of the New Heads exhibition Belloni grants insights into a new chapter of his visual and anthropological research.

Jacopo Belloni, born 1992 in Ancona (IT), lives and works in Geneva and Rome. 2014 Bachelor of Visual Art Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan; 2021 Master of Fine Arts HEAD Genève.
