How Far Behind the Eyes is it Bright
Everyday experiences furnish Sandra Boeschenstein (born 1967) with the point of departure for her drawings, which are animated by the surprising ideas and images depictions of familiar objects, which she alienates from their normal context by combining them with brief comments, and thus transforms them into an object for philosophical speculation. The Zurich artist early on devised a draftsman’s alphabet, which she has since repeatedly deployed, most recently in large-format works on paper. In these works, she explores the space between the visible world and its imaginary counterpart. Alongside her drawings, the exhibition will also premiere miniature objects, as well as a common installation with excerpts of a film by Edith Jud devoted to the artist.
