The museum section examines how artists from different eras use colour. The pupils look at how pictorial motifs are constructed in finely overlapping layers or how colour becomes the main protagonist when it forms a colourful relief straight from the tube, blurred or swirled. The class discusses the moods conveyed by the colour compositions and learns more about the artists and their work. While children from cycle 1 mix their own colours and use them to create a wide variety of sky paintings, pupils from cycle 2 onwards create their own colour compositions using pigments and binding agents.
