Ishita Chakraborty (*1989) is the winner of the Manor Art Prize Aarau 2024, which is awarded every two years to promote young Swiss art. In her artistic work, Chakraborty deals with displacement, colonial trauma and identity politics. She examines how people who are often marginalised or disadvantaged fight against injustice and speak out about it.

Her work encompasses various media, from installations and murals to sound and poetry. In her latest works, Chakraborty explores how we make the world habitable though suffering from the consequences of overuse, racial discrimination and climate crisis.
