In the Realm of Drawing
Pictorial worlds between dream and reality
The Aargauer Kunsthaus owns rich holdings of drawings and works on paper which it regularly draws on for thematic exhibitions.
In its current exhibition titled In the Realm of Drawing – Pictorial worlds between dream and reality the Aargauer Kunsthaus presents works by artists who convey a personal view of things and describe a distinctive reality. Inner images offer a counterpoint to the experience of external reality. The current exhibition examines the space in which perception and imagination merge, and in doing so it also encounters boundaries that separate the two realms.
Included in the exhibition are works by, among others, Friedrich Kuhn, Philippe Schibig, Hans Schärer, André Thomkins, Dieter Roth, Franz Eggenschwiler, Meret Oppenheim, Ilse Weber, Christian Rothacher, Heiner Kielholz, Hugo Suter, Markus Raetz, Rolf Winnewisser, Martin Disler, and David Weiss.
This collection presentation serves to complement the special exhibition titled Voici un dessin suisse, which was on view from 29 January until 25 April, 2011.
