Augusto Giacometti’s work was characterised by his brilliant use of colour. A look at his estate in the Swiss Art Archives in Zurich, which contains extensive notes on composing with colour, shows that this brilliance was also based on methodology. Silja Meyer shows Augusto Giacometti’s methods and explains how the artist used his colour wheel as a working tool.
