In the exhibition, school classes learn how everyday objects form an important part of Pop Art. They examine various works featuring everyday objects as their subjects: cars, a bouquet of flowers or a newsagent’s kiosk are painted on large canvases using high-contrast, bright colours.
In the studio, the classes are introduced to the ‘Gelli Print’ technique. This simple printing technique encourages experimentation. Each pupil then creates their own unique Pop Art-inspired picture using high-contrast colours.
