The main focus of this workshop tour of the exhibition is on the monumental Orlando series of paintings, which fills an entire exhibition room. Over a hundred portraits invite visitors to explore: this blue face is reminiscent of the film Avatar, here an animal, there a baby, the Pope and next to it an abstract colour composition. Other images are reminiscent of representations from art history. The learners consider a possible dialogue between two figures. In the studio, they use acrylic paint and a group exercise to create imaginative portraits, which are publicly displayed as part of a growing body of work.
