In 1967, Christian Rothacher and Markus Müller moved to Ziegelrain 29. Other fellow artists followed – the Ziegelrain artists’ collective was born and, in the 1970s, its reputation spread far beyond the cantonal capital. The members pursued their own projects without committing to a shared programme, yet together they played a part in the artistic renaissance in Switzerland during those years.

A panel discussion with Markus Müller, Petra Njezic and Beat Wismer – moderated by Patricia Bieder and Katharina Ammann – along with a look at the SIKART Lexicon, shed light on this special place of artistic freedom and on the artists who shaped it.
