Bright, bold, cheerful, melancholic – colours really stand out! This section of the exhibition explores how different artists work with colour. Activities on colour families and contrasts, as well as insights into colour theory, help pupils to interpret the colourful paintings in the collection. Whilst children in Cycle 1 mix their own shades and create colourful landscape pictures, pupils from Cycle 2 onwards create their own colour compositions using pigments and binders.
