How do artists portray themselves, and how do they depict family members and friends in their art? The exhibition from the collection features figurative works and portraits spanning various eras right up to contemporary art. As a group, the class discusses the stories behind the portraits or creates a profile of a person depicted in a portrait. In the studio, each student (from Cycle 3 onwards) creates a self-portrait. Using mirrors and translucent sheets, the face is captured as a line drawing. The drawing is then developed into a painted piece.
