The collection at the Aargauer Kunsthaus encompasses Swiss painting from the 18th century right up to the present day. How has this evolved over time? To what extent does the spirit of the age shape painting styles, and how do artists’ individual choices to embrace or resist it manifest themselves? Using selected works, the classes take a close look at the application of paint, brushwork, materials, as well as motifs and painting styles.
