How has painting changed over time? From realistic depictions through Expressionist paintings to contemporary works, the classes explore paintings dating from the mid-18th century to the present day. Different painting styles are examined and an overview of the development of painting is provided. Classes from Cycle 2 onwards transform a copy of a lifelike painting from the collection into an Impressionist, Expressionist or abstract work in the studio.
