Gleaming neon lettering, shimmering scales of goldfish or an interior bathed in soft light shine out at the school classes from Giacometti’s pictures. A few rooms further on, they discover designs that Giacometti drew with pastel chalk on paper as commissioned works for stained glass windows. They learn how Giacometti also explored colour and light in stained glass.

In the studio, the pupils paint their own luminous pictures with oil pastels on black paper. The instructor shows how light effects can be achieved by blurring or using white accents.
